“Zombie attacks” took place across major cities around the world to promote AMC’s latest show “The Walking Dead,” which premieres on Sunday night, according to Entertainment Weekly. The show is based on a comic book series with the same name, following survivors of a worldwide zombie pandemic similar to movies like 28 Days Later. The series is being developed by Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont.
Hundreds of people dressed up like zombies started wandering around Taipei, Hong Kong, Washington DC, and many more cities to promote the show before Halloween. In all, the event will be staged in 26 cities around the world.
The styling director of The Walking Dead, Greg Nicotero, directed the styling of the costumes, possibly teaching local makeup artists how to make the realistic zombie costumes, EW reported.
Progress of the staged event can be tracked on the Walking Dead Facebook and Twitter pages, and also AMC’s international zombie album.
